Aiming to support the new Korando crossover, SsangYong is launching its first TV advertising campaign in line with the introduction of the new ‘12’ plate registration on 1 March.
Financed by a media spend of £1million, the SsangYong campaign is running throughout February. It will be broadcast nationally and up-weighted in Scotland, Northern England, the Midlands, Wales and East Anglia on a number of terrestrial channels including ITV 1 and Channel 5. The commercial has already been broadcast in Northern Ireland.
Creators of the advert wanted the TV spot to be different and to include a touch of humour. The actual video shows the car in ‘action’ while also emphasising its specification, competitive price and 5 year limitless mileage warranty.
“Advertising on television is another first for SsangYong, and demonstrates our commitment to invest in the brand,” says Steve Gray, marketing and communications director of the importer, SsangYong Motor UK.
“The commercial promotes the key messages for Korando, which together with our ‘3 fives’ - 5 year warranty, 5 year finance and 5 years’ free servicing - is an extremely attractive offer.”
The spot was filmed in the Lake District and Suffolk for SsangYong Motor UK by Kindred with media buying by Goodstuff, and is now available on YouTube.
Korando’s Features
The campaign is also being sponsored by dealer advertising to support the launch of the new SsangYong Korando limited edition LE and other models in the range.
The advertised car comes with a powerful 2.0 turbodiesel engine and 2 tonne towing capability, 2 wheel drive or 4x4, low CO2 emissions, high spec interior as standard and 5 year limitless mileage warranty.
For the first week the commercial ends with a £16,995 sign off, and will subsequently promote a finance offer for the Korando S which also comes with 5 years’ free servicing.
