Skoda has released a teaser image previewing a new concept car, which will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
Called the Skoda VisionC, the new concept is a five-door coupe based on the Volkswagen MQB platform, which is designed to preview the company's new design language.
Although Skoda has yet to release any details on the new model, it is expected that the VisionC will be based on the Octavia, albeit with a lower roofline and shallower side windows. If it goes into production, it is likely to act as a cheaper alternative to Volkswagen's Passat-based CC.
Unlike the CC, however, the VisionC has a hatchback rather than a conventional boot, which should make it a more practical proposition.
It's unclear whether Skoda intends to put the VisionC into production; however, given Skoda's somewhat limited production range, combined with its parent company Volkswagen's ambitious plans for global expansion, we'd say it seems fairly likely.
More information will be announced when the car makes its Geneva debut next month.
