J.D Power and Associates now rank Skoda as a top three brand in terms of customer satisfaction, an improvement of three places on the firm’s 2010 placement.

Independent research firm J.D. Power and Associates carry out an annual UK Vehicle Ownership Satisfaction Study (VOSS) in order to rank 28 UK car brands according to how satisfied owners are with their vehicles. This year Skoda came in joint third position, tied with Jaguar, which marks an impressive 18 year run inside the top ten and an improvement of three places compared to last year.

The comprehensive research study covers four areas of the ownership experience. These are Vehicle Quality and Reliability, Vehicle Appeal, Dealer Service Satisfaction, and Ownership Costs. Close to 17,000 responses were collected from UK drivers, covering an average of 2 years of ownership.

Out of a possible maximum of 1,000 points SKODA achieved an impressive 825 points. The industry average was 794 points, which itself is up five points on last year.

In addition to the overall third place finish Skoda also managed to place first in the Lower Medium car category for its popular Octavia model.
