SKODA celebrated a multiple victory in the latest Parkers annual awards. Amongst other prizes, its Octavia was rewarded in multiple categories and the Fabia triumphed as best ‘Family Estate Under £16,000’.
Parkers' Car of the Year awards ended with an excellent result for ŠKODA. The Octavia was awarded 'Best Family car' and named the best car in the 'Under £18,000' and '£18,000-£25,000' price ranges. In fact, this year's victory represents the second in a row for the ŠKODA Octavia, as the S 1.2 TSI also took home the best 'Family Car' award last year.
In addition to this, the Fabia scooped the best 'Family Estate Under £16,000' prize. Further victories this year also involved other ŠKODA vehicles. The 1.6 TDI CD S GreenLine II was awarded best 'Premium Executive Car Under £30,000', while the Fabia 1.6 TDI S five-door was victorious in the 'Family Estate Under £16,000' category.

Best value cars
Kieren Puffett, Editor of Parkers, commented on the reasons that made the Octavia triumph in the 2012 awards:

ŠKODA has consistently delivered this with the Octavia and it’s clearly demonstrated with the car coming top in both price brackets in the category for being best value."
The winners of the Parkers Cost of Motoring New Car Awards are chosen according to the figures from Parkers' Cost of Motoring tool. This calculates the real "hidden costs" associated with owning and running a new car, including indirect expenses such as fuel consumption, depreciation, servicing and road tax.
