Skoda are on course to break the 1,000,000 mark for worldwide sales in one year, the first time in its history the Czech brand will have achieved that milestone.

To the end of November 955,300 Skoda’s had been delivered worldwide in 2014, beating the brand’s previous record year by 16,100.
The European launch of the new Fabia has provided a boost, and Skoda to continue this trend when the new Fabia Estate follows early next year.  UK sales for November grew by 0.3 per cent in comparison to the same month last year, but Skoda recorded remarkable double-digit growth Spain, Belgium, Italy, and Portugal, the last of which saw a 37.5 per cent increase in sales compared to November 2013.
That story was repeated in Eastern Europe where modest growth in Russia was boosted by huge leaps in other markets including Romania and Bulgaria.  Last month was Skoda’s most successful month ever in the Turkish market, with 1,800 units sold.
In its Czech homeland, Skoda market share grew to 20 per cent, up nearly a whole per cent compared to the end of November 2013.
However it is in China where Skoda is celebrating its most impressive sales figures, with over a quarter-of-a-million vehicles sold in 2014 so far.  November sales were up 46.9 per cent compared to the same month last year, with the new Skoda Octavia – released in China this summer – the most in demand model.
Following the positive results in November, the milestone of one million vehicles produced and sold in one calendar year is certain,” said Skoda CEO Professor Dr.Winfried Vahland.  “Producing and selling one million ŠKODA cars for the first time in one year is a milestone for our brand, and has made the whole team very proud.”
