Skoda has announced the pricing and specification details for the new Octavia, ahead of the car's March launch.
Prices for the new Octavia will start from £15,990 for the entry-level petrol model, rising to £23,240 for a top-of-the-range diesel.
The Octavia will be made available with four engines from launch, including a 1.2-litre TSI petrol with 104bhp, a 1.4-litre petrol with 138bhp, a 104bhp 1.6-litre diesel and a 2.0-litre diesel with 148bhp.
The most frugal of these engines, the 1.6 diesel, manages a claimed 74.3mpg and emits just 99g/km of CO2, while the 2.0-litre oil burner achieves 68.2mpg and 106g/km of CO2. Both petrol models will return in excess of 50mpg with CO2 emissions of 121g/km or less.
Three trim levels will be on offer: S, SE and Elegance. Basic S models get 16-inch alloys, digital radio, Bluetooth and hill-hold assist as standard.
Moving up the range, SE spec adds automatic air conditioning, body coloured door handles and mirrors, front fog lights, stability control and driver's seat height adjustment.
The range-topping Elegance trim adds 17-inch alloys, alcantara and leather seats, cruise control and sat-nav.
