Skoda has announced that from now until the 30th September 2011 buyers of selected new petrol cars who take up one of the firm’s range of funding options will pay no VAT on their purchase.

A range of Skoda finance deals, including a 0% hire purchase option that was announced recently, will now be offered free of VAT.

Skoda hopes that it will be able to tempt buyers who have been saving for a new car by telling them that they can keep their money in the bank and take out a finance deal with 0% interest, and with payments spread out over two years. Interested buyers will need to have a 50% deposit, but will benefit from having Skoda pay all of the VAT on their purchase. Under this deal, a Fabia 1.2 SE Plus would cost from £209 per month. An alternative hire purchase plan is also available with a 10% deposit and 7.9% APR representative interest.

In addition to the hire purchase plans Skoda is also offering a range of personal contract plan (PCP) deals, which come with up to three years free servicing as well as the no VAT offer. Under a 36 month PCP plan a Fabia 1.2 SE Plus would cost £209 per month, with a £209 deposit. Customers who can afford a 25% deposit and have a car to part exchange would be able to take home the same car for a monthly payment starting at £129.

Each one of these finance plans is available on selected petrol engine Octavia, Fabia and Roomster cars at Skoda dealers across the UK.
