BMW has won a total of six BusinessCar awards, including the top title of ‘Manufacturer of the Year’.
In the 2012 BusinessCar Awards BMW has won the title of Manufacturer of the Year for the fourth year in a row, as well as taking home five other awards including 'Business Car of the Year' for the BMW 1 Series.
The Business Car of the Year Award was given to the BMW 1 Series in recognition of its low running costs and strong overall package. Meanwhile the title of Green Car of the Year went to the BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Saloon - the second year in a row that this model has won the Green Car award, thanks to its balance of quality driving dynamics, low running costs, and low emissions.
The BMW X5 and the 3 Series Saloon both held onto their titles for the third consecutive year, taking home the titles of 'Large 4x4 of the Year' and 'Upper Medium Car of the Year' once again. The final BMW award of the night went to the BMW 7 Series which was chosen as the 'Luxury Car of the Year'.
With so many BMW models winning awards it was perhaps inevitable that the firm would take the overall Manufacturer of the Year title from the BusinessCar Awards, which are given out based on votes from BusinessCar magazine readers. The Editor of BusinessCar Paul Barker commented on the strong showing from BMW:
"BMW's impressive and class-leading combination of desirability, efficiency and driving pleasure has again shown itself, with this haul of awards, decided by the readers of BusinessCar, proving that the brand is at the forefront of the company car market.
"Across the range there is a model for every level of employee, each one offering low tax bills, good running costs and the premium BMW badge. The people running these vehicles and giving them to their staff obviously appreciate the job BMW is doing."
