Although he made his name in the Formula One cars of the 1950s and 60s, it seems that nowadays Sir Stirling Moss prefers to travel round in a little more comfort, having become one of the first customers to take delivery of Aston Martin’s new Cygnet.

The new car is actually a surprise birthday present for his wife, Lady Moss; Sir Stirling said: “Since seeing a pre-production Cygnet in January I knew that it was the perfect car for Susie; a proper little piece of British luxury and perfect for our life in town.”

Lady Moss’s car is Aston Martin Racing Green and features a black interior. Her husband raced for the British marque in the 1950s, driving a DBR1 for the team at the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The association with the motoring great will do the prestige of the baby Aston no harm whatsoever and the Cygnet is already arguably one of the most desirable – and expensive – small cars on the market.
