With the national media full of gloom about the Chancellor's VAT rise, Spanish car maker SEAT are bucking the trend by refreshing and extending their VAT-free deals into 2011.

With Value Added Tax now at its highest ever level since it was introduced in 1973, SEAT are hoping that the continuation of their popular VAT free deals, alongside an extension which sees a half VAT offer being extended to a greater range of cars, will prove to be a hit with UK customers. The new half VAT deals will mean that buyers will effectively be paying Value Added Tax at the original 1973 rate of 10% rather than the new increased rate of 20%.

These price reductions are also going hand in hand with a third offer being made by SEAT - 0% finance deals on a selected range of cars.

SEAT's highest selling models, the Ibiza SC and 5-door, will benefit from the extended VAT offer for 1.4 Chill and 1.4 84bhp petrol engine models, while all other versions apart from entry level cars will have half of the VAT paid by SEAT.

The SEAT Ibiza ST, however, will enjoy the full VAT-free deal across all versions. For the larger five seat family hatch, the Leon, the VAT-free deal will apply to S Emoción plus all petrol engine models except for entry level versions, and the half VAT deal will be applied to all diesel models other than the S Emoción. Both the Altea and the Exeo will also benefit from either zero or half VAT offers.
