The successful executive class Exeo saloon and ST estate range from SEAT is being given a makeover, along with significant new engineering updates.

The new face of the Exeo will be shown for the first time at the forthcoming Frankfurt Motor Show 2011. The new exterior style is enhanced by a smart new design for the alloy wheels, and new bi-xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights which come as on option with the SE trim level or as standard on Sport versions.

On the inside, SEAT has enhanced the luxury feel of the cabin with a set of upgrades to the materials, including upgraded leather for the steering wheel and new upholstery for the seats.

Under the bonnet a range of engineering updates serve to improve the efficiency and cleanliness of both the saloon and the estate's 2.0-litre TDI engine, with combined fuel consumption now running at 57.6mpg and CO2 emission figures of 129g/km.

The Exeo has also benefitted from a new gearbox option, introduced earlier this year. The new Multitronic auto/sequential manual gearbox, with CVT-based technology offers drivers the choice of two modes - full auto, or sequential shifts via steering wheel mounted paddles.

Further upgrades to the Exeo family are in the pipeline for 2012, with the addition of an Ecomotive model featuring start/stop technology to improve fuel efficiency. SEAT is aiming to reduce CO2 emissions on this new Exeo Ecomotive to below 120g/km.

Prices for the Exeo range start at £19,285, and buyers are offered a choice of three turbodiesel engines or a powerful turbocharged petrol engine.
