If there is one thing a Swedish car manufacturer should know about it is driving in snowy, wintry conditions, and this year Saab are setting out to prove that they can offer their customers the best in safety and performance during cold weather with a new set of winter wheels, tyres and accessories.
Speaking about the new products, the Business Development Manager for Aftersales at Saab GB, David Leighton, said:
"The average temperature across the country between November and March is less than 7 degrees centigrade.
"At such a low temperature, winter tyres are more effective at providing higher levels of safety than standard tyres and offer increased traction on the road. As a result, they reduce braking distances and suffer less wear and tear, thus offering not only peace of mind, but a cost-saving benefit too."
This highlights a fact that many people do not realize - winter tyres are not just for driving on snow, but offer better performance in dry, cold conditions as well. This is because ordinary summer tyres begin to lose flexibility when the temperature drops below 7 degrees centigrade.
This year Saab are offering alloy wheels and winter tyre packages from just £559 including VAT. Interested customers should get in touch with their local Saab dealership for information about fitting charges and extra services such as storage of summer tyres.
