Rolls-Royce is offering a special edition of its Phantom and Phantom Extended Wheelbase models in celebration of the Chinese Year of the Dragon.

Rolls-Royce claims that the Dragon collection "has been created to celebrate the ultimate symbol of power, prosperity and good fortune," however it could also be seen as a cynical marketing ploy designed to ingratiate Rolls with the Chinese - a market the firm is keen to capitalise on.

Anyway, politics aside, the Dragon Collection cars come fitted with a suite of unique styling tweaks including hand-painted dragons adorning the car's exterior and hand-embroidered dragons on the headrests. Also featured are illuminated treadplates with 'Year of the Dragon 2012' picked out in LED lights, and gold dragon inlays in the passenger panel.

Thomas G. Jefferson, Bespoke Sales Manager at Rolls, said, "This limited edition car embodies the synergy of craftsmanship, creativity and culture in a manner that is uniquely Rolls-Royce."
