In more good news for the British motor industry, UK car production has risen to its highest levels since 2004.
Data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) revealed that 141,146 cars rolled off the production lines in May, a 42% increase over the same period in 2011.
And to celebrate this, we've compiled a list of just some of the cars we make in good old Blighty.

MINI
Is it actually possible to dislike the MINI? The brand may now be owned by the Germans but the MINI is still as English as milky tea, drizzly summers and the Daily Mail. And it's made in Oxford.
Vauxhall
Vauxhall has undergone something of a renaissance recently. The Corsa outsells the Fiesta, the Insignia outsells the Mondeo, and the Astra… doesn't outsell the Focus. Never mind though, the Astra is still a good car and it's built at Ellesmere Port in Cheshire.
Honda
Honda's Swindon factory churns out the Civic, the CRV and the Jazz -- all excellent cars. So, if you want to buy British but also want a reliable motor, look no further.
Toyota
Same as above. Toyota has a plant near Derby. It's just a pity that the cars it makes there -- the Auris and the Avensis -- are a bit naff.
Nissan
The Japanese manufacturer builds the Micra, the Notes and the Qashqai at its Sunderland factory and the latter is the country's eighth best-selling car.
Lot
us
What started as a small race team run by Lotus supremo Colin Chapman is now a Malaysian owned entity. However, the company still sticks to the mantra of "simply and add lightness," and produces cracking small sports cars.
Aston Martin
Aston is still one of the most evocative marques in the world. These days the cars are built in Gaydon, Warks., after moving from Newport Pagnell ten years ago. So you can help the British economy and feel like James Bond.
Bentley
These days, Bentley is about as British as a pair of lederhosen, but don't fret -- the cars are still built in Crewe and, because the company is owned by VW, they work.
Rolls-Royce
The Phantom is quite simply the best car in the world. And if you've got a spare £300k knocking around, how about treating yourself to the ultimate British luxury motor?
Jaguar
Jag is now owned by the Indian Tata Motor Company but this is a good thing -- the Chicken Tikka Masala is evidence of the great things that the Brits can achieve with a little help from our friends on the subcontinent. Jag doesn't make a bad car.
MG
Oh dear. Two years ago, the MG brand was worth the square root of diddly squat… and it still is. The MG 6 is a very unconvincing alternative to the Golf and the Focus. It feels cheap, it manages 35mpg (which would have been impressive in 1971) and, knowing MG, the doors will probably fall off.
Land Rover
Land Rover, like Jaguar, is owned by Tata Motors. And like Jaguar, it still makes some of the best cars in the world. The Defender may be getting on a bit and the Freelander may be outclassed by its rivals, but the Rangey and the Disco are still two of the best off-roaders ever made. End of.
McLaren
Luckily for McLaren, the quality of its cars is much better than the quality of its pit-stops. The McLaren MP4-12C is, by most measures, the greatest supercar ever made. And it's built in Berkshire.
