Renault has announced the UK pricing and specification details for the new Clio GT Line, a warm version of the firm's popular supermini.
The Clio GT Line slots into Clio range below the hot Renaultsport model but above the rest of the model line-up, and is available to order now with prices starting from £17,395.
Under the bonnet, the GT Line comes with Renault's brand new turbocharged direct injection 1.2-litre petrol engine, which sends its power to the front wheels via a six-speed double-clutch flappy-paddle gearbox.
With 120bhp and 140lb-ft of torque, the Clio GT Line will get from 0-62mph in 9.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 121mph. However, despite the brisk performance figures, the car will return 54.3mpg on the combined cycle and emits just 120g/km of CO2.
Renault has also given the Clio GT Line a sports chassis as standard, which is 40 per cent stiffer than the standard Clio's. The GT Line also gets Renault's R.S. Drive system which offers two driving modes, Normal and Sport, the latter of which sharpens up the car's responses by tweaking the engine and gearbox mapping, ESC settings, steering feel and throttle pedal response.
Styling-wise, the Clio GT Line borrows heavily from its more powerful Renaultsport brother, with a new grille, GT front and rear bumpers, a rear lip spoiler, twin chrome exhausts and GT badging. The car also sits on new 17-inch anthracite GT alloys which match the anthracite door mirrors and rear diffuser.
On the inside, the GT Line gets dark carbon GT upholstery, Renaultsport seats, a GT steering wheel, aluminium pedals and chrome trim.
The Renault Clio GT Line is available to order now and the first examples are set to reach UK showrooms next month.
