As customer hype grows surrounding the Twizy, Renault has announced the winner of its 'Design a Twizy' student competition in line with the launch of the electric two-seater.

The model produces zero emissions and is eligible for free road tax and exempt from the London Congestion charge. Customers have been pre-ordering the all-electric vehicle for months, no doubt influenced by the incredibly low running costs on offer, even before its debut in UK showrooms on 13th April.

The winner of the competition was 20 year old Rachel Smith, studier of advertising and media relations at The University of Huddersfield, who took the grand prize of £9,000 to cover a year of tuition fees.

Her winning design was showcased on a Twizy to celebrate the occasion at the university’s Business School. Here she was presented with her cheque by Renault ambassador and solo long distance yachtswoman Dame Ellen MacArthur.

The Twizy is available in a choice of three trim levels priced from just £6,690.
