Land Rover has emerged victorious in the Parkers’ Cost of Motoring New Car Awards 2012 for its Range Rover Evoque 2.2 TD4 Pure.
"The Range Rover Evoque has striking looks that make it stand out of the crowd, and now it can claim to be the best value 4x4 too,” stated Kieren Puffett, Editor of Parkers.
On sale in the UK from £27,995, the panel of judges in the competition said that it was an incredibly easy decision to award the Range Rover Evoque 2.2 TD4 Pure as winner of the Parkers' Cost of Motoring New Car Awards 2012 in the 4x4 Category.
"The Evoque claims three of the price brackets in the 4x4 category for being top for value. Key to its strong performance was not only its strong residuals so it really holds on to its value, but also the frugal nature of the 2.2-litre diesel and its low running costs,” claimed the judges.
The winners of the Parkers Cost of Motoring New Car Awards are chosen according to the figures from Parkers' Cost of Motoring tool. This calculates the real "hidden costs" associated with owning and running a new car, including indirect expenses such as fuel consumption, depreciation, servicing and road tax.
Laura Schwab, Land Rover’s UK Marketing Director, also commented on the accolade:
"This award is further endorsement of the Evoque's balance of luxury, on road dynamics, off road capability and class leading residual values which is a large contributing factor to the car's success. We know our customers take the cost of ownership into serious consideration when deciding on their new car.”
Recently, the Range Rover Evoque received the prestigious Microsoft Network Cars ‘Car of the Year’ award, topping the annual poll of 30,000 readers. The Evoque shot to the top of the charts as a result of its exceptional quality and performance.
