The Porsche 918 Spyder, which goes into production next September, will cost from £625,400 and will develop 784bhp, according to internet reports.
Details of the 918, the replacement for the legendary Carrera GT, were leaked on the Rennsport forum; however, Porsche has refused to confirm the accuracy of the report.
We already knew that the Porsche 918 would be powered by a combination of a 4.6-litre V8 engine and two electric motors, but the latest info suggests that the total power output will be 784bhp, while the torque figure stands at 569lb-ft.
Power to the rear wheels will be supplied by the petrol engine and one of the electric motors, while the second electric motor will power the front wheels only. A seven-speed PDK gearbox will be included as standard, as will Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus and Electric Porsche Traction Management.
Also revealed in the online reports were details of the 918 Weissach package. The package, which adds more than £58k to the car's asking price, reduces the weight of the car by 35kg thanks to the use of magnesium, ceramic and titanium body parts, as well as lighter wheels. Buyers who opt for this package will have to do without air-con, leather seats, carpets and a glove box; however, they will be left with a car which can lap the Nurbrugring in 7 minutes and 14 seconds.
