Peugeot has launched a new limited edition high-spec version of its RCZ. The new RCZ 'Red Carbon' edition features a range of styling tweaks and extra kit, but just 200 examples will be coming to the UK.
Oddly, despite its name the RCZ Red Carbon doesn't actually feature any carbon-fibre bodywork. What it does get is unique badging which distinguishes it from the Sport model on which it's based, self-levelling xenon headlamps, 19-inch alloy wheels and a choice of two exterior colours: Moroccan Red or Nera Black. There's also what Peugeot calls a the 'Black Pack;, which adds matt black roof arches and a black front grille, door mirrors and brake callipers.
Inside, the sports seats, steering wheel and gear lever are trimmed in black leather with red stitching, and all models come with sat-nav, CD player, Bluetooth and USB connectivity.
Three engine choices are available: the 1.6-litre THP engine with either 156bhp or 197bhp and the 163bhp 2.0-litre HDI diesel.
Prices for the Red Carbon edition start from £26,000 for the entry-level petrol, rising to £27,850 for the diesel and £28,400 for the 197bhp petrol. And although this makes the special edition model around £1,500 pricier than the standard car, Peugeot claims that the Red Carbon's extra features would total £2,500 if added to the standard RCZ.
