The Mazda3 is the best-selling Mazda model worldwide, and an upgraded version is now on sale from £13,495, which includes a saving of £2,300.
The car was made exclusively in Japan, and the five-door hatchback has a new rear bumper and new twist-spoke alloy wheels that Mazda claim will give the car a stronger visual appeal. The car also offers improved ease-of-use for the driver; new equipment and more exterior colour options.
The refined aerodynamics of the new model have enhanced fuel economy across the range. New models include two Sport choices and new equipment such as a gear-shift indicator.
"We anticipate that the upgraded Mazda3 will enable us to increase sales of our C-segment contender during 2012," said Peter Allibon, Sales Director at Mazda UK.
"Mazda3 was already a great car and the changes to the upgraded model are subtle but every one makes a difference to either fuel economy or driving feel."
He concluded by stating that he was confident that the introduction of the sportier exterior, more premium interior and two new Sport models with the 1.6 diesel powertrain for 2012 would 'attract a growing number of consumers to our brand.'
The company's engineers have also fine-tuned the suspension and steering. The improved linear steering should give more control and assured predictability, as well as enhanced refinement and a smoother drive.
The interior is more stylish but maintains its functionality. The amount of eye-movement required to use the car's onboard systems from behind the wheel is reduced, and the previous silver colour of the lower dashboard console is replaced with black. The dials and controls most used by the driver have been finished in satin-polish silver to make them easier for the driver to find.
