Nissan’s brand new crossover pair, Qashqai and Juke, have both picked up awards from leading motoring publications Fleet News and Parkers.
Qashqai recognised by Fleet News
Awarded the best crossover award from Fleet News, the Nissan Qashqai beat rivals such as the Kia Sportage, Range Rover Evoque, MINI Countryman and Skoda Yeti when assessed by a panel of judges.
The criteria used to determine the winner included vehicle operating costs, suitability for business use and the level of support from the manufacturers and corporate sales teams, with the Nissan model coming out on top.
“The Nissan Qashqai is the car that originally defined this segment. It’s always been a favourite among company car drivers looking for something more practical than a hatchback. Costs have always been competitive, but now, with the new 1.6-litre diesel engine with stop-start, it is class leading,” said Stephen Briers, Editor of Fleet News, on the Qashqai’s win.
Juke recognised by Parkers New Car
“The Nissan Juke is winning many fans for delivering sheer value for money and outshined its rivals in the Crossover category by holding on to its value. Its diesel engine is frugal and its low emissions mean you pay nothing for first year road tax. The Nissan Juke Visia 1.5dCi is a class act, proving that you don’t have to pay the earth to own a great looking car and is an extremely worthy winner,” said Kieren Puffett, Editor of Parkers on Nissan’s attainment of their best crossover award.
This accolade was assigned to Nissan following positive results from Parkers’ Cost of Motoring tool - a system which calculates the true costs associated with owning and running a new car, including fuel consumption, depreciation, servicing and road tax.
Nissan’s Corporate Sales Director, James Douglas, revelled in the triumph:
“We always try to provide consumers with the lowest possible running costs and it is great to see both our Crossover models being recognised by two of the leading experts in the industry. With the addition of the technically advanced 1.6-litre dCi stop-start engine in Qashqai, we are confident that we will continue to deliver further value to all fleet drivers.”
