Nissan has announced that its Juke-R crossover will be made available to buy, albeit in very limited numbers. The Juke-R was unveiled in Dubai in January and it received so much attention that Nissan is putting it into production.

The Juke-R is fitted with the same 3.8-litre V6 which Nissan currently uses in its GT-R, producing 545bhp. This is enough to get the Juke-R to an impressive top speed of 160mph. The Juke-R also features the same chassis and drivetrain as the GT-R.

Nissan will only be building the Juke-R on request and has already received three offers from prospective customers. The Marketing Product Manager for the Juke, Gareth Dunsmore, said, "The Juke-R was originally intended as a one-off concept to marry two of Nissan's most innovative models. But the reaction we had to the car in Dubai was amazing - people were making offers for the original on the street!"

You'd have to say that it looks absolutely fantastic. It looks like the sort of car Batman might drive to the shops in.

There will be more news to come on the Juke-R later in the year.
