The new GT-R Track Pack is versatile for all environments making it the ideal choice for the race track and for road-use.
The new vehicle from Nissan has been called the Track Pack and offers GT-R fans a direct driving experience that is still fully road legal.
Special six-spoke RAYS alloy wheels with gloss black centres are a new feature to the vehicle's exterior, and they also provide a total weight saving of 10kg, which is more than the standard 2012 GT-R.
The operating temperature is reduced by as much as 100 degrees during track use, due to added brake cooling ducts built into the carbon front splitter. Air cooling is channelled over the rear discs with similar ducts located behind the rear wheels.
To optimise the track performance of the Track Pack it features special, stiffer suspension. After extensive testing at the Nurburgring with the GT-R development driver Toshio Suzuki, manufacturers are confident that the vehicle combines a harder set-up and increased body rigidity.
This will allow the perfect set-up at the track for GT-R development drivers, but the special dampers mean drivers can change the suspension for road use by simply flicking a switch.
The Track Pack has lost rear seats but has gained two track-ready front sport seats that are covered in 'magic cloth', according to the father of the GT-R, Kazutoshi Mizuno.
The special blue-on-grey sport seats are made from fabric and leather, and the fabric allows occupants to 'stick' to the seats during hard cornering and braking due to the high friction material.
The GT-R model is highlighted by the Track Pack emblem that sits on the dashboard. More comfortable seat belts, an enhanced Bose audio system and a rear view camera are fitted to the standard MY2012 GT-R.
The GT-R Track Pack still has the same power output as the standard car (542bhp) and can travel from 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds.
