Nissan has announced the release of a new 370Z NISMO model, which will go on European sale next month.
The new Nissan 370Z NISMO follows on from the recently-launched GT-R NISMO as the Japanese manufacturer forges ahead with plans to strengthen its performance car range.
Design changes to the new 370Z NISMO include a front end featuring a completely reworked front bumper that gets a larger air intake, extra air inlets, and LED daytime running lights. Black headlamp bezels and special NISMO trim and badging are also features of the new design, as well as black and silver 19-inch alloy wheels. There is a new bumper at the rear too, as well as a smaller rear spoiler designed to create significantly greater downforce at speed. Nissan claim the redesign will mean the extra downforce will be more evenly distributed to maximise handling.
A torquey 3.7-litre, 339bhp, six-cylinder engine gives the Nissan 370Z NISMO a 0-62mph time of 5.2 seconds. The 370Z NISMO comes fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox.
The performance feel continues on the inside too, where new seats based on the Recaro Sportster are trimmed in red and black leather and Alcantara with a steering wheel to match. The shell-based seats are lighter and more rigid than in previous models. Changes to the carpets and rear wheel-arch protectors have helped futher reduce road noise.
Nissan has revealed updates to the rest of its 370Z range, in addition the new flagship NISMO model, including new gunmetal 18-inch alloys, improved seats, and a revised suspension set up.
Full pricing details for the new Nissan 370Z line up will be confirmed by the manufacturers shortly.
