Volvo has given us our first glimpse of the new XC90, which is set to be unveiled in August ahead of the Paris Motor Show.
It seems that Volvo will be revealing the new XC90 piece by piece, and has started the ball rolling by releasing photos of the new car's interior.
Volvo claims that the XC90's interior is the most luxurious ever designed for one of the company's cars, taking its inspiration from Swedish design. The most obvious feature of the new car's cabin is the massive -- and we do mean massive -- central touchscreen which, Volvo claims, "forms the heart of an all-new in-car control system." As a result of this, the interior is virtually button-free.
The interior is a pleasing blend of leather-'n'-wood and features a number of neat styling quirks, including a gear lever made of crystal glass and diamond-cut buttons.
As ever, Volvo has devoted a lot of time and effort to its seats, with the chairs in the new XC90 shaped to resemble the contours of the human spine. The company also claims that the XC90 is a true seven-seater, and that the rearmost seats are suitable for passengers up to 5'5".
More information on the new XC90 will be revealed in the run-up to the car's unveiling.
