Dash cam provider Nextbase has launched a car insurance policy, Nextbase Insurance Services, which gives its customers access to discounted car insurance premiums.

So far, 57.3% of its customers have saved more than 30% when purchasing a comprehensive car insurance policy through Cornmarket Insurance Services (based on premiums paid against ABI figures for Q3 2020).

Drivers with dash cams fitted benefit from being able to provide video evidence to their insurer in the event of an incident to prove they weren’t at fault and, according to Nextbase, this can help settle claims up to twenty times faster.

Nextbase’s research also shows that dash cam policy holders are 33% safer drivers, based on telematics scoring.

Bryn Brooker, head of marketing at Nextbase, said: "Building on our partnerships with a select group of insurers that offer dash cam discounts to Nextbase customers, we’ve now created a new breed of car insurance for our dash cam drivers so they receive the discount on their car insurance they truly deserve for safer driving.”

Customers with a full no claims discount (nine years) can also choose to fix their insurance policy price for three years, with a guaranteed premium and payment options over 36 months.
