The first photographs of Vauxhall’s all-new five-door entry-level VIVA model have been revealed ahead of its spring 2015 sales launch.
Vauxhall have revived the VIVA name which adorned three-generations of family saloons from 1963 to 1979, and it hopes the all-new VIVA will have the same lasting appeal with a practical and spacious five-seater designed for modern everyday life. The styling shares common features with other Vauxhall models, including the trio of swooping side feature lines with signature ‘blade’ line cutting through the doors as found the Insignia and the GTC, and the distinctive winged chrome bar at the front. Prominent headlights and taillights add to the VIVA’s sharp looks.
The new model will be available in a choice of ten exterior paint colours, and with a selection of 14- to 16-inch wheels to choose from.
The VIVA features Vauxhall’s new 1.0-litre three-cylinder ECOTEC engine which debuted this year in the ADAM ROCKS AIR and the New Corsa. This engine will be connected to a five-speed manual gearbox.
Also in common with its ADAM and Corsa stablemates, the VIVA gets Vauxhall’s InteliLink infotainment system which seamlessly integrates Apple iOS and Android devices, as well as the City mode which reduces steering effort required. Other features of the all-new VIVA include and Electronic Stability Program with traction control, ABS, Electronic Brake-Force Distribution, Park Assist, and Hill Start Assist, while optional extras include Lane Departure Warning, cruise control, sunroof, fog lights, heated front seats, and heated steering wheel.
