Skoda has announced the UK sales launch of the latest-generation Octavia Scout, which is available from this month priced from £25,315.
The manufacturer reports that despite an increase in interior space and specification, the new Octavia Scout is around 20 per cent cleaner and more fuel efficient than the model it replaces.
Based on the Skoda Octavia Estate, the new Octavia Scout’s off-roading ability is aided by a fifth-generation Haldex-5 clutch. The new model comes with a choice of two engines; a 148bhp 2.0-litre TDI with a six-speed manual gearbox, and a 182bhp 2.0-litre TDI with a six-speed DSG transmission. The former returns a combined 55.4mpg and CO2 emissions of 129g/km, while the latter returns 55.4mpg while emitting 134g/km of CO2.
Other features of the Octavia Scout include driver fatigue sensor, crew protection assistant, and up to nine airbags. Among the options on the Skoda Octavia Scout include intelligent light assistant, park assist, and rear-view parking camera.
Around 53,600 Skoda Octavia Scouts have found homes worldwide since the original model was introduced in 2007, accounting for nearly eight per cent of overall Octavia Estate sales.
