New limited edition ‘Silverstone GP’ versions of the Twingo Renaultsport 133 and Clio Renaultsport 200 are available to buy now, priced at £14,995 and £19,995 respectively.
The latest announcement comes hot on the heels of the recent launch of Renault's flagship 265bhp Trophy version of the Mégane Renaultsport. Now the two smaller versions, the Twingo and Clio Renaultsport, will also have their own premium version which will go on sale in the UK from today.
The 'Sliverstone GP' name given to the new cars builds on an established relationship between the French car manufacturer and the famous motor racing circuit - and home of the British Grand Prix - Sliverstone. Renaultsport currently offer trackday experience cars for the performance division's trackdays at Silverstone.
The new limited edition models have been designed especially for the UK, which is the firm's biggest market for hot hatches, and only 50 units of each car will be manufactured.
The small but pacey Twingo gains a new Renaultsport stainless steel exhaust system for the limited edition run, which adds a guttural, powerful sound to match its sporty style. It will be sold at a price of £14,995. The Clio Renaultsport 200 will go on sale for £19,995.
Both cars are built on a lowered Cup Chassis which gives them a powerful racing stance. This is complemented by a distinctive mix of silver metallic paint and Deep Black contrast details on the 17 inch alloys, roof and door mirrors. They will also come with extra-tinted rear windows and Silverstone GP B-pillar badges that have the Grand Prix circuit map inscribed on them. The Twingo also comes with matching 'Deep Black' rear spoiler and fog light surrounds, whilst the Clio boast 'Speedline' alloy wheels.
The exclusivity of the cars will be highlighted by a unique numbered plaque ranging from 1-50. Other interior features will include grey and black Renaultsport carpet mats and Renaultsport Recaro front seats for the Clio. Both cars will come with Renaultsport Monitor on-board performance tracking system, and multifunctional TunePoint with Bluetooth and USB connectivity for portable media players.
As an extra bonus, anyone who buys one of the limited edition cars will also get a Renaultsport Experience at Silverstone for free. This usually costs £175, and will allow them to get to know their new cars and their full performance and handling potential on the track with a qualified instructor to guide them.
