Mini has announced the launch of a new model for 2012 – the Mini Highgate.

Taking a lead from previous special edition vehicles – the Mini Baker Street and Mini Bayswater, the new Highgate is named after the fashionable London area of North London and is a sophisticated new version of the drop-top Convertible.

The four-seater offers a raft of unique exterior and interior features that is designed, as Mini claim, ‘to take the fun and excitement of ‘wind-in-the-hair’ motoring to the next level.’

Colours available include all-new metallic ‘Iced Chocolate’ for the body, with Midnight Black and White Silver additional options. ‘Silvertouched Truffle’ is the name given to the colour of the fabric roof.

On the inside, the Mini Highgate comes with automatic air conditioning, Bluetooth and USB connectivity and a multi-function steering wheel.

The Mini Highgate comes with a total of four engine options, all of which are linked to a six speed manual gearbox. A six speed automatic variant is also available.

The different engine variants include the Mini Cooper (90 kW/122 hp); Mini Cooper S (135 kW/184 hp); Mini Cooper D (82 kW/112 hp) and Mini Cooper SD (105 kW/143 hp).

Mini continue to create great cars for both leisure and business use. In fact, the Mini Hatch was recently voted ‘2012 Supermini of the Year’ in the BusinessCar annual awards.
