Subaru’s BRZ sports car range has a new entry-level model, with the reintroduction of the SE specification confirmed by the manufacturer.
As a result, the Subaru BRZ range now consists of a choice of four models, with the manual version of the SE coming in at £22,495. The new BRZ SE will go on sale later this month through Subaru’s UK dealer network.
The new SE is powered by the same 2.0-litre Boxer petrol engine as the rest of the BRZ range, as well as having the same rear-wheel drive format. The entry-level model comes with keyless entry, push button start, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, sports seats, limited slip differential, and front, side, curtain and knee airbags, while satellite navigation can be chosen as an option.
Subaru had already dropped the price of its BRZ SE Lux specification models by £2,500 over the summer, with those now starting from £23,995. The SE Lux adds alcantara and leather trimmed heated seats. Both the SE Lux and the new SE specifications have the automatic gearbox versions, which feature steering-wheel mounted gear shift paddles.
The Subaru BRZ is built at the car maker’s Ota-City plant in Japan, where the Toyota GT-86 is also manufactured as the result of a collaboration between the two manufacturers.
