Further details of Vauxhall’s all-new Corsa range have been confirmed by the manufacturer ahead of its official debut at the Paris Motor Show in October.
One confirmed feature of the new Vauxhall Corsa is the latest 1.0-litre 3-cylinder ECOTEC Direct Injection Turbo petrol engine, a Euro 6 emissions compliant power plant available in 89bhp or 113bhp variants. In its 89mph form the new engine, designed to give responsive power at low revs, still offers a competitive 54.7mpg combined.
Other petrol options include 69bhp 1.2-litre and 89bhp 1.4-litre naturally aspirated engines, while revised 1.3 CDTi diesel units are available in 74bhp and 94bhp form. The diesel engines come with latest-generation turbo chargers which minimise noise, and both come with Start/Stop technology as standard. All engines are Euro 6 compliant. The 94bhp diesel with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a braking energy recuperation system sees CO2 emissions down to just 85g/km, giving the Corsa with a combined fuel economy of 87.8mpg.
Prices for the new Vauxhall Corsa range will be revealed on 2nd October, with production due to start before the end of the year.
