BMW has unveiled two new M Performance Editions for the BMW M3 and M5.

Only thirty examples of each model will be produced and the cars are being made solely for the UK market.

It's business as usual in the engine department -- the M3 M Performance Edition comes with the same 420bhp V8 fitted to standard M3 and the M5 M Performance Edition is fitted with the standard M5's 560bhp twin-turbo V8.

The M3 M Performance Edition comes with Black Novillo leather upholstery, 19-inch matte-black alloys, carbon-fibre front splitters, DAB radio, adaptive headlights, USB and internet interface, heated front seats, park distance control, folding mirrors, a 13-speaker audio system and dark chrome exhaust, side gills and kidney grille surround. In addition to this, the car also comes with the Competition Package which includes 10mm lowered suspension, electronic damper control and a revised DSC+ system.

By contrast, the M5 M Performance Edition comes with M Sport seats trimmed in Black Merino leather, powered bootlid operation, soft-close doors, split-folding rear seats, sun protection glass, reversing camera, internet, a 12-speaker audio system, USB interface, high-beam assist and speed limit display.

Both cars come with the choice of three new paint colours: BMW Individual Japan red with Frozen Red wrap, BMW Individual Frozen White and BMW Individual Frozen Blue.

The new cars are on sale now. The M3 M Performance Edition is priced at £74,080 OTR and the M5 M Performance Edition will cost £95,140 OTR.
