A year after Audi released the Audi R8 GT Coupe, they’re back, this time with a drop-top version.
The car gets the same 5.2-litre V10 found in the Coupe but with more power – 552bhp to be precise. 0-62mph takes 3.8 seconds and you’ll be doing 197mph by the time the acceleration stops.
Audi has managed to strip 85kg from the weight by using carbon fibre, lighter wheels and brakes and bucket seats which weigh considerably less than before.
The immense power is fed to the road with four-wheel-drive which favours the rear wheels for superior handling. No manual gearbox is offered, the only choice being an R tronic automatic. The car sits a full centimetre closer to the road than before and comes as standard with carbon ceramic brakes.
Only 333 models will be produced and it will cost in the region of £200,000
