Practicality with a capital P, that's what Peugeot aims to provide with its new 108 city car.
The new Peugeot 108 has the beating of its predecessor (the 107) in a number of areas, which the French manufacturer hopes will make the new model a big hitter in the city car sector.
One major area of improvement with the new 108 is the boot, which has grown by almost 60 litres compared to the 107 it replaces. The new car will boast 196 litres of boot space, up from 139 litres in the 107, and the boot sill is lower by a user-friendly 20mm. The parcel shelf has made way for a fabric cover, which cleverly pivots flush against the bootlid glass when open to maximise access, then down to cover the load when the boot is lowered into the closed position.
The 108 comes as standard with 50/50 split folding rear seats, with two ISOFIX child seat fixing points.
The 108 Allure and 108 Feline models also benefit from the standard inclusion of a reversing camera mounted in the rear bumper.
The increase in load capacity has been achieved without compromising space in the passenger cabin, which is comparable to that found in the 107. The new Peugeot 108 available in both three and five-door variants, with the three-door models boasting memory function front seats, which will return to their preset position having been tilted forward for rear seat passengers.
