The annual Motor Codes Garage of the Year 2012 is set to evaluate the quality of UK garages for the third year in a row.

Criteria such as customer service, quality of overall service and value for money will be used by voters in determining the winner.

The prestigious award is open to all UK service and repair garages. This includes everything from franchise dealers to independent garages. Chris Mason, Managing Director at Motor Codes, highlights that the aim of the competition is not just to discover the best garage, but to also identify the number of trustworthy garages across Britain.

Mason stated, "The vast majority of garages out there provide top quality customer service. Garage of the Year helps point out the good guys so that motorists don't need to worry about making a costly mistake in choosing a garage. The Motor Codes network has grown and now covers over 6,500 garages so you can be sure there's a safe-haven garage near you."

Growing in popularity

This is the third year that Motor Codes has staged the award which appears to be growing in both stature and popularity with each passing year. The competition gives voters the chance to single out their local garage for particular praise, something which could act as a real boost for some of the smaller outfits throughout the country.

6,500 OFT-approved Motor Codes garages across the nation have already signed up to the competition in the hope of gaining votes. Customers can rate overall service or a particular repair experience. The ratings system reflects the varied nature of the businesses that commit to Motor Codes standards.
