Mitsubishi have today released the pricing structure and finance options for the upcoming launch of their 100% electric I-MiEV.

For a start, the on the road price is reduced due to its eligibility for a £5,000 Plugged-In Car Grant, an incentive provided by the government. The on the road price of the I-MiEV after the grant and including first registration fee is £24,045.

Finance Mitsubishi will offer a Balloon Personal Loan at 11.7% APR for the i-MiEV. This will see purchasers put down a £4,635 deposit followed by 47 monthly payments of £399 and a final payment of £6,459. Alternatively, an 11.3% APR Personal Loan will be available whereby a deposit of £5,596 is payable, followed by £399 per month for 59 months, and then a final payment of £399.

Mitsubishi have also announced details of contract hire for the I-MiEV. A 48 month non-maintained Contract Hire package will be available through Mitsubishi Contract Motoring for £399 per month.

The all-electric Mitsubishi i-MiEV boasts a number of advantages over conventional cars. It is exempt from road tax, the London Congestion Charge, and parking charges in some London Boroughs and cities such as Milton Keynes. The manufacturer claims that, on the Economy 7 tariff, a full charge will cost as little as £1.05. For business buyers, the I-MiEV is also exempt from Benefit-In-Kind tax, and businesses can write-down it's full value in the first year.
