The MINI has retained the Business Car Magazine Supermini of the Year for the ninth successive year.

The award bestowed on the MINI Hatch was attributed to its "excellent residual values and economy" by Business Car Magazine Editor Paul Barker.

"Normally it would be incredible to see a car hold onto its title for nine years, but with the Mini's unbeatable running costs and driver appeal, it's no surprise to see it take the BusinessCar Supermini of the Year Award for a ninth straight year" said Barker, after the MINI Hatch retained the award voted for by Business Car Magazine readers.

MINI's diesel models particularly impressed the voters, with the new MINI One D and MINI Cooper D exempt from the London Congestion Charge thanks to their 99g/km CO2 emissions rating, and a combined fuel economy of 74.3mpg.  The figures are aided by the introduction of regenerative braking, auto Start/Stop, and gearshift indicator to the models.
