MINI has revealed a special edition model to coincide with next year's London Olympics.

The MINI London 2012 has a patriotic choice of paintwork - Chilli Red, White Silver or Lightning Blue - and has the London 2012 Olympic logo on a white painted roof panel and side scuttles. A Union Jack stripe runs the length of the bonnet, roof, and tailgate, and the car sits on grey 17-inch conical spoke alloys unique to the London 2012 special edition.

The interior also commemorates the location of the 2012 games, with an etched London skyline across the dashboard featuring silhouettes of well-known landmarks such as Tower Bridge, the London Eye, and Battersea Power Station. The dashboard also features a commemorative inscription detailing the car's unique production run number, as just 2,012 of the special edition will me made. Also inside, red and blue stitching and white piping and London 2012 logos feature on the black leather sports seats, with Union Jack piping on the headrests. Equipment includes a DAB radio, air conditioning, and cruise control.

The Mini London 2012 is available as a 3-door hatch in four trim levels - the Cooper at £17,980, the London Congestion Charge beating Cooper D at £19,260, the Cooper S for £20,125, or the Cooper SD priced at £20,860. MINI, an Official Partner of Team GB and Paralympics GB, has made the pre-sale list available from today, with the first MINI London 2012 special editions projected to hit the road from next March.
