Mercedes-Benz has revealed the price list for the upcoming sixth-generation SL Roadster.
The SL 350 and the SL 500 will be released in the UK next month priced from £72,495 and £83,445, respectively. The SL 63 and the SL 65 AMG will follow later in the year.
The new SL is made almost entirely out of aluminium and is therefore significantly lighter than the outgoing model. Because of this, Mercedes claims that the new SL will have significantly improved fuel consumption and better performance than its predecessor.
The SL 350's 3.5-litre V6 churns out 306bhp and 273lb-ft of torque. 0-62mph will take 5.9 seconds and you'll run into the electric buffers at 155mph. Despite this, the SL 350 manages a combined 37.7mpg and emits just 176g/km of CO2.
The SL 500, on the other hand, comes with a 4,663cc V8 which develops 435bhp and 516lb-ft of torque, hitting 62mph in 4.6 seconds and topping out at an electronically-limited 155mph. The SL 500 will manage 30mpg and emit 214g/km of CO2.
All models come equipped with 18-inch alloys, bi-Xenon headlamps, Magic Vision Control (Merc's intelligent wash-wipe system) and a hand-free boot access -- the boot opens when you wave your foot under the rear bumper.
