Mercedes has revealed the pricing and specification details for its new E-Class, which goes on sale in the UK in April.
More of a mid-life facelift than a total redesign, the new E-Class comes with an updated grille, new headlamps and a revised rear bumper.
The firm has also simplified its E-Class line-up, replacing the SE Avantgarde and Sport models from the last generation model with just two new trim levels: SE and AMG Sport.
The new SE models costs from £32,400 -- a £2,280 price hike over its predecessor -- but Mercedes claims that in return the car comes with more than £4,000 worth of standard equipment, including 17-inch alloys, LED headlights, DAB digital radio, Active Park Assist, Collision Prevention Assist, square twin exhaust pipes and a Mirror Package which includes folding door mirrors, an auto dimming rear-view mirror and a driver's exterior mirror.
The SE will be offered with three diesel engines -- the E 220 CDI, the E 250 CDI and the E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID -- and two petrol engines -- the E 200 and the E 250.
The AMG Sport, meanwhile, will cost £34,895 -- £575 more than the outgoing model, but Mercedes claims nearly £3,000 worth of extra kit has been added. The new car comes with new alloys, a new grille, Collision Prevention Assist, DAB digital radio and Mercedes' COMAND Online system.
The AMG Sport is available with the same engines as the SE, with the addition of the E 350 BlueTEC diesel engine.
