Mercedes has revealed the pricing and specification details for the new A-Class.
The A Class will arrive in the UK in December with prices starting from £18,945. Five models will be on offer with power outputs ranging from 109bhp to 211bhp.
The models on offer are as follows:
A-Class (base model)
The A 180 BlueEFFICIENCY petrol will be priced at £18,945 and is available with a six-speed manual gearbox, comfort suspension, fabric upholstery, a CD player with a 5.8-inch colour display and MP3, WMA and USB connectivity and Bluetooth.
SE
Moving up, the SE is available as both an A 180 BlueEFFICIENCY with 122bhp or an A180 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY diesel with 109bhp. The diesel model manages a tax-busting 98g/km of CO2 and a combined 74.3mpg, making it the first ever Merc to get below the 100g/km barrier.
Kit includes a two-bar grille in the car's body colour, 16-inch alloys, sports seats and a leather steering wheel.
Sport
The Sport is available with the same engines as the SE as well an A 200 (156bhp) petrol unit and an A 200 (136bhp) diesel which manages 65.7mpg and emissions of 114g/km.
Designed to look altogether sportier than the SE, the Sport comes with twin exhausts, 17-inch alloys, a chrome grille, a perforated leather steering wheel, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers and sports seats.
The Sport starts from £21,240.
AMG Sport
Starting from £23,445, the AMG Sport gets what Mercedes calls the Dynamic Handling Package which includes sports suspension, perforated disc brakes, cruise control and AMG bodystyling, including AMG alloys, AMG floor mats and AMG door sill panels.
Engines on offer include the A 200 models available on the Sport trim, plus the 250 BlueEFFICIENCY unit which develops 211bhp.
Engineered by AMG
The top-of-the-range A Class features the A 250 engine plus the A 220 CDI unit, which will be available from 2013.
Features unique to this model include a one-louvre grille, red brake callipers, 18-inch AMG alloys, bi-xenon headlights with daytime running lights, privacy glass, red detailing and tweaks to the ESP.
