Mercedes has launched its first non-branded campaign to promote the new A-Class.
The ten second television advert, which premiered during the England vs. Norway football match on Saturday, showed just an image of the new car alongside the hashtag #NewGeneration.
The new car debuted this year at the Geneva Motor Show. You can watch a video of its launch here.
The promotion for the new A-Class centres on an 'information hub' -- a website to you and me -- at mercedes-benz.co.uk/newaclass. Mercedes has also launched an email campaign and a Twitter initiative, hence the hashtag in the television advert. Through this, Mercedes hopes to appeal to a younger audience.
Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars Marketing Director, David George, said, "The A-Class is a real game-changer for the brand. The Pure and Simple campaign is designed to raise awareness of the new generation for Mercedes-Benz and is the beginning of a major launch for this exciting new vehicle."
There is no word yet from Mercedes regarding pricing and specification although the German firm has revealed that the A-Class will have a class-leading drag coefficient of 0.26 and that some models will emit just 98g/km of CO2.
The new A-Class goes on sale later this year.
