Mazda has revealed that the new facelifted MX-5 will cost from £18,495 when it goes on sale next month.
The new MX-5 gets a redesigned front end with a new front bumper and grille design. Not only does the new front-end design give the MX-5 a more 'aggressive' appearance, it also improves pedestrian safety as the MX-5 is the first Mazda ever produced to feature an active bonnet system to protect pedestrians in the event of a collision.
Mazda has also improved the MX-5's braking and handling characteristics by modifying the vacuum brake booster. Manual versions also get a modified throttle which is said to improve responsiveness and acceleration.
Climate control, air-conditioning and glossy dark grey dashboard panels and steering wheel inserts come as standard on every new MX-5, and buyers also get the choice of three standard colours: Sparkling Black Mica, Dolphin Grey Mica and Crystal White Pearlescent. A range of metallic colours are also available.
£18,495 gets you behind the wheel of a basic 1.8-litre soft-top MX-5, but you'll need £23,595 if you opt for the top-of-the-range 2.0i MZR PowerShift Roadster Coupe.
