A new Mazda MX-5 goes on sale later this year with a host of interior and exterior improvements.
On the outside, the new MX-5 gets a redesigned front bumper, which Mazda claims improves aerodynamic performance, and is also available in a new paint finish: Dolphin Grey Mica. Mazda has also refreshed the MX-5's interior with a new steering wheel and panel décor.
Performance improvements for the 2012 Mazda MX-5
The MX-5's throttle response has been tweaked to improve acceleration and driveability at lower speeds, and a new vacuum brake booster has improved braking performance.
MX-5 Active Bonnet
The MX-5 also gets a new 'active bonnet' which rises automatically to protect pedestrians in the event that you hit someone. This provides space under the bonnet to cushion the blow and, in theory, should prevent a pedestrian's head hitting the engine.
Prices for the new 2012 Mazda MX-5 (available from the autumn)
The Mazda MX-5 is available from £15,051.
