Mazda today announced that their new compact crossover 4x4 will be called the CX-5.
Based on the MINAGI concept car that Mazda showed off at this year's Geneva Motor Show, the CX-5 will feature Mazda's new KODO design theme and incorporate the firm's groundbreaking SKYACTIV technology in its engines, transmissions, chassis and bodyshell.
The CX-5 will be the newest model in Mazda's CX 4x4 line-up; the company already produces the larger CX-7 and CX-9 compact crossovers.
The CX-5 will make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September and will go on sale here in the UK sometime next year.
