Porsche have launched a new limited edition of their successful road racer, the 911 GT3 RS.
The 4.0-litre flat-six fitted to the new car is the largest engine ever fitted to a 911 and is also the most powerful naturally-aspirated engine, developing 125bhp/litre. Maximum power is 500bhp at 8250rpm and the GT3 RS 4.0 litre also churns out 339lb-ft of torque.
0-62mph happens in 3.9 seconds and after 12 seconds you'll be doing 124mph. These impressive acceleration figures allow the GT3 RS 4.0 to get round the Nurburgring Nordschliefe in 7:27 minutes.
The limited edition 911 is finished in Carrera White and has a large rear wing, a lower ride height and a widened track. Lateral air deflection vanes are also seen for the first time on a Porsche here. Inside, the car's racing heritage is made very obvious with bucket seats finished in black leather and red alcantra, a half roll cage, race harnesses, a battery cut-off switch and a fire extinguisher.
Only 600 examples of the 911 GT3 RS 4.0-litre will be made and the car will go on sale here in the UK from July. Prices will start from £128,466.
