An Exclusive left-hand-drive only four-wheel-drive A1 model has been released by Audi, and with only 333 cars being produced worldwide it truly is exclusive.

Audi claim that the 252bhp Audi A1 Quattro will be the quickest accelerating and most powerful car of its type that has ever been made. The first Quattro to use a larger capacity petrol engine and also the first all-wheel-drive vehicle, the engine power of this limited edition has been ramped up to 252bhp. The car will also come with an equipment list matching its exclusive status.

The high performance comes due to a turbocharged direct injection 2.0-litre 4 cylinder engine which delivers a power of 252bhp at 6,000rpm, with torque of 258lb-ft maximum between 2,500 and 4,500rpm. This allows the new Quattro to zoom up from 0-62mph in 5.7 second and to reach a top speed of 152mph.

In addition to the improved speed the car also features a fast 6-speed manual gearbox, high-pressure common rail injection system, a turbocharger which is intercooled, and a regulated oil pump that allows for good fuel economy as well, coming in at 33.2mpg.

Handling and safety are improved by an electronic stability program which features a sport mode to set the threshold for intervention at a higher level, or can even be switched off completely for track driving. Also if one of the wheels on an axis starts to skid it is braked by the EDL, or electronic differential lock.

The new Quattro also has high quality finishing touches, with exclusive 'Glacier White' metallic paint, high-gloss black roof, and stylish 18 inch alloy wheels with turbine design. There is also an all new design for the bumpers on the front and back, the front grille, and the large dual colour rear spoiler and large 100-millimetre polished exhaust pipes. Other smaller finishing touches include tinted LED rear lights, tinted windows on the rear, and contrasting black colour on the rear diffuser and hatch.

Of course being a Quattro it is also a practical car, with luggage capacity in the boot of 210 litres with the seats in the up position, or 860 litres with them down.

Inside the cabin as much attention to design details has been lavished on the instrument panel, with white needles, a red-faced speedometer, and colour DIS (driver information system), as well as sport steering wheel with leather trim and red stitching, and aluminium finish on various parts including the gear lever.

Other high-end features include adaptive brake lights, light and rain sensors, acoustic rear parking system, an automatic air conditioning system, cruise control, convenience key, and a high quality sound system with 14 Bose speakers at 465 watts, along with multi CD changer as well as a digital radio. It also comes with a built in Sat Nav system and integrated Wi-Fi hotspot for maximum connectivity.

These exclusive limited edition cars will become available in continental Europe during the second half of 2012, but no decision has yet been made about whether or not any of the 333 units being produced will be imported into the UK.
