Lexus is the top ranked manufacturer in the 2011 J.D. Power survey. This year's victory marks the eleventh time in as many years that Lexus has come out on top in the nationwide satisfaction poll.

The survey canvassed 16,840 owners of cars that were, on average, two years old. The survey collates information on the quality of the cars themselves, the overall customer experience and the quality and service provided by the dealerships.

The Lexus IS saloon gained the highest score overall with the RX 4x4 coming third. What Car? Editor Jim Holder said, "Lexus's achievement is remarkable. Eleven years at the top of Britain's most thorough customer survey is testament to its ability to build great cars and unstinting attention to customer service".

Honda's Accord came in second place; indeed 7 out of the cars in the top, 10 were from Japanese manufacturers with the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Volvo S40 all coming joint 7th. Vauxhall were the worst rated manufacturer and Ford's Ka was rated the worst car of all.
