Lexus's RX 450h hybrid 4x4 has been given new looks, a higher equipment specification and a new F Sport model.

The new RX 450h F Sport gets dark 19" alloy wheels, mesh finishing for the upper and lower front grilles, leather upholstery, aluminium-effect pedals, a head-up display and LED headlights.

Lexus's new trademark 'spindle-shaped' grille adorns the front of the new RX 450h and there are also new tail lamps. On the inside, the new car gets a redesigned steering wheel and a new centre console box lid.

The RX 450h F Sport also gets a new lateral damper system which Lexus claims improves ride comfort by absorbing small vibrations. All RX 450h models also get a Sport mode for the Lexus Hybrid Drive system which sharpens up the throttle and the steering and programmes the stability control and traction control for less intrusive assistance.

Prices for the new RX 450h start at £44,495, rising to £55,495 for the top-of-the-line Premier model.
